WARBURTON – School teachers partially boycotted educational activities in the schools of district Nankana Sahib on the call of the SES Teachers Association District Nankana Sahib here on Friday.

Association officeholders Rai Muhammad Asif of Govt Elementary School Punj Ahata and Muhammad Yasin Wattoo GHS Warburton City had urged the school teachers to boycott the classes in favour of their demands like promotions. They said that pay packages had been announced for other districts except district Nankana Sahib.

They said the body officials had met with DEOs and EDO Education but they did not pay heed to their complaints. Rai Muhammad Asif said that if pay package promotions were not given to the teacher within a week, a protest sit-in will be observed in front of joint offices of EDO Education DCO Nankana Sahib.  However, District Officer (Education) Liaqat Ali Kharal met with the teachers representatives at his office.

The meeting was also attended by the Senior Staff Association and the Headmasters Association officeholders along with the SES Teachers Association officials. On the other side, the Punjab Teachers Union denied to attend the meeting.
